The Orange Congregational Church is a member of the United Church of Christ (UCC), a denomination rooted in the Reformed Protestant tradition. As such, we affirm the ministry of all baptized persons and seek to create and encourage all members to take an active and faithful role in the life of our congregation.
The leadership of Orange Congregational Church resides in the consensus of our members, expressed in and through the work of our Church Council, our Board of Deacons, our Board of Trustees, our Moderator and our ordained clergy. In keeping with New England Congregational tradition, all board members are elected at semi-annual meetings by the gathered church.
The Church Council is made up of a Chair, Vice Chair & Secretary, along with representatives for all boards and committees and the ordained clergy. The Board of Deacons plays an integral part of the life of Orange Congregational Church. Its primary responsibility is to coordinate all aspects of the worship service with the ordained ministers of the church, including the adminstering of the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion. Made up of 16 members, the Board meets monthly to discuss the spiritual life of the church, coordinate its responsibilities, and consider the direction of the church. The Board of Trustees also meets monthly and is charged with the care and custody of the property of the church and its financial affairs.
Church Life and Stewardship
The Board of Christian Stewardship is looking for your stories. Our 2012 Stewardship Campaign's theme is "Gifts Open Doors", so we are looking for how your membership to the OCC has given you gifts (emotional, spiritual, connections, etc...) which have, in turn, opened doors for you. Please fill out this form and return to the OCC office. We look forward to hearing from you!
If you would like to make a pledge for the 2012 stewardship campaign you may print out this pledge card.
