Worship

Join us for In-person or Online Worship Services this Sunday

We are gathering in-person in our Sanctuary on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. (Our July & August worship time is 9:00 a.m.) We also stream worship live on YouTube for those who choose to worship from home.

Orange Congregational Church was gathered over 200 years ago, and still worship is at the heart of our life together.  In all we do we seek to follow Jesus' Greatest Commandment:  to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love our neighbors as self.  We gather each week in worship to be nourished, empowered, and sent by the Spirit to live the Gospel in and for the world.  We hope you'll join us!

Here's what to expect, if you join us in-person:

  • Masks are currently optional and social distancing is not required.
  • Our Senior choir sings on Sundays (except for July & August) and our Handbell choir performs at certain worship services.
  • In-person Crib Room and Church School take place on most Sunday mornings.  For more information, please contact churchschool@orangecongregationalcurch.org.
  • Coffee and fellowship hour follows our worship service.
  • Those who are not feeling well are asked to worship online at home that day.

Baptism

The sacrament of baptism is an outward and visible sign of the grace of God.  Through baptism a person is joined with the universal church, the body of Christ.  In baptism, God works in us the power of forgiveness, the renewal of the spirit, and the knowledge of the call to be God’s people always.  At any age, the act of baptism marks the beginning of a new life of discipleship with Christ.  Baptism may take place at any worship service where the community is gathered.

Children

Children are always welcome in worship!

Most Sundays we offer a children's message during the 10am worship service.  Church School also meets in-person most Sundays; children are dismissed from service to join their classes.
For more information, please contact our Church School Coordinator at churchschool@orangecongregationalcurch.org.

For those too young for church school, we have a Crib Room available with an experience childcare attendant.

Communion

In the sacrament of Holy Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper or Eucharist, meaning “thanksgiving,” Christians hear, taste, touch and receive the grace of God revealed through Jesus Christ in a unique way.  Our Communion Table is open to all Christians of every age who wish to know the presence of Christ and to share in the community of God’s people.  We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of every month. Everyone is welcome at Christ's table!
