At OCC, worship is the foundation of our faith life together... but it doesn’t end there! No matter who you are, no matter where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. So whether you’re starting, starting again, or looking for something new, you will be embraced and supported in your faith formation.
“Faith Formation” means all the ways we grow, strengthen, and purposefully connect with our faith to become more of who God calls us to be. Believing that each of us is on our own faith journey, OCC offers a variety of opportunities for people of all ages to engage with and deepen their faith.
Still committed to helping children form their faith in a comforting and joyful environment, our Church School is adapting again!
Church School is offered in-person for any child/ren ages Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Most weeks children begin in the sanctuary with their families, come down for the special "A Time for Children", and then go upstairs with their teachers to explore a Scripture through activities and games. On the first Sunday of the month, children begin upstairs in Pilgrim Hall for Church School and join their families in the sanctuary for Communion.
In accordance with our current church Covid guidelines, masks are optional.
Please return the Church School Registration form to our Church School Coordinator, Gretchen DiStefano.
At Orange Congregational Church, we work to create a special environment for our youth. Through participation in Confirmation and Youth Group, they have the opportunities to explore their spirituality and faith in a way that is unique to their teenage world.
We meet in-person for a range of discussions, retreats, service projects, and events for those in 7th through 12th grades.
Also, our youth can sign up to participate in an annual summer mission trip at Appalachia Service Project (ASP).
Please return the PF Registration form to Victoria, our Director of Faith Formation, and contact her for any additional information.
Join Victoria for an exploration of scripture using sacred and contemporary art. Together we use the scripture for the following Sunday and discuss how the visual art, music, poetry, and dance help us connect to the messages in our scriptures. Everyone is welcome!
We have been exploring the scripture using the ancient spiritual practice of Lectio Divina ('Sacred Reading'). This includes hearing, praying, and discussing the scripture to be used in worship the following Sunday.
